Citizen has recently launched the Eco-Drive Eyes watches. The first concept of this watch was shown back at the 2010 Baselworld and now the brand has produced 250 units of the white model and 250 units of the black model.

Black Citizen Eye Watch

The Eco-Drive Eye is the first Citizen watch made with a three-dimensional ceramic dial and crown. Eco Drive EYES represent traditional Japanese aesthetics utilising natural lighting and shadow depth which make the dial surface of more prominent. The “EYES” concept came about with a vision of clearness, sharpness and brilliance. The strap of the watch has been constructed with a soft liquid rubber making it extra comfortable to wear.

The brand stated that the Eco-Drive EYES took approximately 80 times longer to make than the usual watch manufacturing process. This longer process was due to the time required to polish the individual ceramic parts used. The materials used as mentioned before include ceramic, which is often very fragile. Citizen has a state of the art precision processing technique which made it possible to create such detailed watches.
