WristReview and Melbourne Watch Company are proud to present to you all a very special giveaway contest.

Named after Melbourne’s iconic Flinders Street Station, this beautiful mechanical timepiece was designed for both dress and casual wear. The 40mm stainless steel case features a slim profile with flat sapphire glass framing the guilloche dial and providing an exhibition caseback.

Powering the Flinders is the top grade Miyota Cal. 9015 high-beat movement. This reliable 24 jewel automatic movement operates at 28,800 bph and features a 42 hour power reserve when fully wound.

The black dial option features a genuine leather strap in black with white stitching and a thumbnail style buckle. The strap width is 20mm at the lugs, tapering to 18mm at the buckle.

All watches ship in a display case and come with a 12 month manufacturers warranty.

I prefer watches that have a fairly clean, not over-done look to them. The Stowas certainly catch my eye, and I haven’t gotten tired of looking at my Seiko Alpinist. Regarding these MWCs, the white one would be my preference, but either have the look I prefer and 40mm is as big as I go. Guess I’ll have to research the significance of Flinders Street…

My favorite type of watch is a manual hand wound dress watch with a black leather strap, a simple dial, and power reserve and date indicator complications. My favorite of the MCW’s for the giveaway is the one with a brown strap and white dial.

  • I’m a huge fan of “big” watches ( > 41mm) that have simple and easy to read dials. The Omega Planet Ocean XL and the Nomos Tangente are among my favorites. This watch is very much my kind for daily wearing.

Cheers to Wrist Review for a giveaway like this (I love the idea of having your winner(s) writing a review – neat way to get different perspectives), and cheers to MWC for creating a very nice, elegant watch design.

Taking a look at my small collection, it would seem automatic dive watches are my favorite. They are rugged and sporty but can also be dressed up. The timing bezel come in handy every now and then. And something about being able to take a small mechanical device under water really appeals to me.

I was given a self-winding (automatic) watch (Caravelle) for my 16th birthday and it gave me over 35 years faithful service. The watches I have owned for the past 8-9 years have only been stand-ins until I found my next automatic watch. The black dial option of the Flinders model will be that watch!

Favourite: Automatic watch, preferable chronograph (aesthetically). This is Simply a fantastic looking watch at an affordable price! The flinders white dial is a very elegant watch. You can certainly dress it up, or down, business or casual. Very appropriate name considering the history of flinders at station. The hawthorn, whilst similar, has a much different appeal. A la the Tag Carerra F1 series, it is certainly catered to the sportier look (steel band bolstering this). Would certainly be looking to add this watch to the collection!!! Simply magnificent. A fantastic job by MWC. Will definitely be sharing this. Leon.

Any watch that matches your mood, outfit, style, and makes you feel good when you wear it, is the best watch, at the time. A diver on the weekend; a chronograph for a weekend drive in the country; or a clean, sophisticated yet simple face, like the MWC Flinders Automatic, paired with a suit for the office, all seem to just plain work.

  • PB

    divers chrono

  • Con B

I like automatic watches, especially in the classic timeless styles. I also like dressy ‘James Bond’ style luxury watches for special occasions.

  • Jim K

This is a beautiful simple, slim watch. not over complicated like many watches of today. my favorit watches are the white or gray face with a brown leather strap. I really got in to mechanical watches in college when I would buy cheep and even broke mechanical watches of of Ebay and take them apart just to learn how the movement worked. I have a few watches in my collection today but they are all cheaper watches and few of them are mechanical witch is my true passion. this would be a great classically styled watch to be a corner stone to build a true watch collection.
