I am not afraid to admit that I follow some sites that highlight cool stuff for guys. There is no way that I can keep up with all the interesting toys that get out on the marketplace without help for other curating sites. So when Uncrate.com popped this beauty onto their pages, I thought it would be perfect for the site.
Nomos has been covered several times on Wristreview, but this the first model they are releasing with an in-house swing system movement. It is a manual wound movement with a small second hand at 6:00, a large date wheel (my favorite type of date wheel) and a power reserve indicator at 1:00. For me, I love the simple styling with the very readable face and the small splashes of color. This is the perfect example of a modern looking but still elegant dress watch. The wire lugs and the narrow bezel only enhance the focus on the dial itself.
The movement gets an exhibition caseback to show off the movement. It is a shame that we don’t get a view of the blued balance spring, so we just have to settle for the Glashütte sunburst finishing. The watch is on the smaller size for a modern design at 37mm, but with the minimal bezel, I would expect that it will look a bit bigger on the wrist. It should sit nicely under even closely tailored cuffs at 7.65mm tall.
Pricing is set 2,600 Euros, as you would expect from a German brand, and translated to about $3,600 in USD. IF you do want one, you have to be patient, as the delivery time is set at about 6 months out. For more info, please visit nomos-glashuette.com
