Mühle Glashütte New Rasmus 2000 Watch

Into the deep: The new Rasmus 2000

Although originally designed for the harsh conditions of the Baltic Sea, this new diving watch from Mühle-Glashütte is at home in every corner of the undersea world. And it’s just as ideal for those who don’t just spend their vacations underwater. In collaboration with the research divers at the University of Rostock, a watch has been created that can withstand extreme pressure and offers perfect readability even in the depths of the undersea world. This makes the Rasmus 2000 a diving partner you can always count on. Every time you dive – for every underwater use.

Together with the research divers at the University of Rostock, Mühle-Glashütte has developed an underwater timepiece primarily designed for professional use. The European Scientific Diver Center in Rostock coordinates all activities required for educating and training research divers. The center also supports underwater scientific missions with both resources and personnel. The range of experience and expertise of these research divers is, therefore, extremely diverse, encompassing training for the most varied underwater tasks – from scientific research in underwater archeology to marine biology.

In collaboration with the European Scientific Diver Center, the Rasmus 2000 has not only preserved its defining characteristics, it will also be used in the future in Rostock for training students who, in turn, will share their experiences with this timepiece with Mühle-Glashütte.

You can rely on the Rasmus 2000 – whether in the frigid waters off Rostock or in the warm currents of the Mediterranean Sea. This is why precision is at the heart of the Rasmus 2000 – as it is for every instrument watch from Mühle. Equipped with a self-winding automatic mechanism with 38-hour power reserve and a particularly shockproof and finely-adjustable woodpecker neck regulator, this timepiece is a powerful diving partner.

When you’re deep below the waves, optimal readability – the ability to tell time at a glance – is imperative. And this is reflected in the design of the bezel and dial of the Rasmus 2000. The choice of color for the dial as well as the broad, Super-LumiNova coated hands, numbers and hour markers guarantee precise readability – even in fading light.

The bezel is always of particular importance in a professional diving watch. In accordance with DIN standards, the bezel of the Rasmus 2000 is divided into continuous minute increments. To enable the wearer to keep track of how much time remains when scuba diving, it also comes equipped with the obligatory illuminated dot, which indicates the start of a dive, while the minute hand measures the actual dive time. Finally – so that the remaining dive time is not exaggerated should the bezel be twisted by accident – the rotating bezel can only be turned in a counter-clockwise direction. And the Rasmus 2000 never fails to make a good impression on land either, because the striking dial design in blue, black or orange forms a stylish complement to the two-tone bezel finish.

As a functional timekeeping instrument, the Rasmus 2000 is not only easy to read, but also extremely pressure resistant. The anti-magnetic case with its 3.5 mm sapphire crystal can withstand enormous water pressure of up to 200 bar. The protected, screw-in crown at the 4 o’clock position is not just a special feature of nautical watches from Mühle-Glashütte, it also helps afford greater freedom of wrist movement – a decisive advantage when working under water. It’s easy to see why whether under or above water, the Rasmus 2000 can always be relied upon. And it’s no accident that it bears the name « Rasmus » – the patron saint of sailors.
