At Watches & Wonders 2026, Chopard shows off its new Alpine Eagle XPS with a new champagne-coloured dial it calls ‘Mountain Glow’. The Alpine Eagle is Chopard’s entry into the ever-popular segment of sporty watches with integrated bracelets (metal bracelets whose sides flow into the case’s edges), and has been making quite a success of it, given the number of different Alpine Eagle models available.
With a case measuring 41mm x 8mm, this new Alpine Eagle XPS is one of the classier offerings from the range, but it still has 100m of water resistance. Its case is made from Lucent Steel, Chopard’s proprietary stainless steel alloy that was introduced with the Alpine Eagle. Chopard says that Lucent Steel’s molecular structure is organised in a way that means the metal catches the light with a similar lustre to gold, which itself interacts differently with light than other metals. Having seen a fair few Lucent Steel Alpine Eagle models previously, I can agree that they have a unique shine under light.
The ‘Mountain Glow’ dial looks classy and features the unique spiral pattern found in the Alpine Eagle models. It’s meant to represent an eagle’s eye. In person, the watch is classy all the way.
Behind the dial is the calibre L.U.C 96.40-L, one of Chopard’s self-winding movements typically found in its L.U.C dress watches. It features the Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal), like the dress watches, so you can be sure that the finishing is of very high quality throughout the watch, from the components you can see to those you can’t. Despite being only 3.3mm thick, the movement offers a 65-hour power reserve and a 4Hz beat rate, and has even been chronometer-certified.
Chopard’s new Alpine Eagle XPS with its ‘Mountain Glow’ dial is not a limited-edition piece and costs EUR29,500.
