For years, Inhorgenta Munich has been one of those shows that has always looked tempting from afar. We have been invited for years, but when it’s time and the event is on the calendar, looking promising, and offers a peek into watchmaking alongside stunning jewelry. Somehow, though, it has never worked out for us in person. The timing always clashes with other plans, or other commitments, though Inhorgenta is slowly evolving into something more like what you see in Geneva at Watches & Wonders, with serious watchmaking alongside jewelry in a way that feels deliberate and curated.
Even without walking the aisles ourselves, the energy comes through. Independent and established brands are showing new models, clever complications, interesting designs with the polish and care you would expect. The fair, as a whole, seems to push for creativity and recognition of serious watchmaking in a way that does not feel forced. From the people I know who attended, the photos, and the coverage online, you can see and sense that this show is building its own identity in Europe’s busy watch calendar.
It is fascinating to see how far Inhorgenta Munich has come since it started in 1974. Originally, it was known primarily as a jewelry trade show, and watches were present but not the main attraction. Over the years, the watch presence has grown, attracting attention from international media and collectors. It cannot compete with Watches & Wonders in scale, which drew over 55,000 attendees last year, but it is carving its own space where craft, design, and technical sophistication meet in a way that feels authentic and approachable.
This year, the fair was held in Munich from February 20 to February 23, 2026, filling the halls of Messe München with brands, retailers, journalists, and collectors for four days of watches, jewelry, and conversations about craft.
Key figures for the 2026 event included:
Total Visitors: ~25,500 to 25,803
Exhibitors: ~900 to 1,055
Brands: ~1,200 to 1,334
International Reach: 55% of exhibitors were international
Venue: 6 halls across 64,000+ square meters at Messe München
Watching it from behind the screen has been surprisingly enjoyable. Inhorgenta has grown quietly but steadily into something more than just a jewelry fair. The watch segment, in particular, has exploded, and it is clear that watchmaking is finding a real platform here, alongside jewelry, of course.
Seeing it on a screen is one thing, but being there in person is something else entirely. The real magic comes from wandering the halls, checking out the watches up close, chatting with people all over, and spotting things you never expected. We’ve missed that in the past, but following the fair from a distance this year only makes us hope that next time everything aligns, and we finally get to be there in the beautiful city of Munich to see it all firsthand. The next edition is set for February 19–22, 2027, and we can’t wait to experience it in person.
