Glashütte Original has just updated the range of watches it makes for women. The Serenade Luna models combine German precision watchmaking with timeless elegance and beauty into dazzling watches.
There are four new watches to choose from, but they’re all united by their measurements and movements. All four of the latest watches are in cases measuring 32.5mm x 8.9mm, and they all feature Glashütte Original’s self-winding calibre 35-14.
Crafted in-house, this movement measures just 3.8mm thick and yet still has a robust construction featuring a balance bridge for better shock resistance, a long 60-hour power reserve and that moonphase display too. As you’d expect, the hand finishing of the movement is high quality, with plenty of striping on the movement’s plates. The golden rotor is also well decorated and will hold your attention as it spins round.
The main updates to the collection come in the form of the choices available. The simplest to look at of the new Serende Luna watches is the reference 1-35-14-01-06-04, which comes on a leather strap with a two-tone 18k red gold and stainless steel case. A “shimmering white” mother-of-pearl dial with applied diamonds in it. On the pink leather strap the price is €14,400, and with the optional bracelet it’s €15,600.
The reference 1-35-14-01-16-04 is quite similar to this model in that it also has a two-tone case, but it has 48 diamonds set into the golden bezel, too. And it comes on an orange Louisiana alligator leather strap, which is incredibly eye-catching. On said eye catching strap the price is €17,900 and on the optional bracelet it’s €19,100.
1-35-14-01-15-04 is the next reference and this one goes all-in on gold with its 18k red gold case fitted with 48 diamonds on its bezel. Like all the other models, this one has a diamond set into its crown making it shimmer like the “shimmering white” mother-of-pearl dial and the moonphase display which is made of both “shimmering white” and “Tahiti” mother-of-pearl. This watch is paired with a blue Louisiana alligator leather strap, no bracelet is available on this model, and the price is €23,900.
The last piece is the reference 1-35-14-06-15-04. Unlike the other watches, it swaps the mother-of-pearl dial for a more traditional “radiant blue” sunray finish. However, it keeps the mother-of-pearl finish for the moonphase display. The 18k red gold case is adorned with plenty of diamonds, and the colour matches really well with the blue of the dial and the Louisiana alligator leather strap, again sans bracelet option. Like the other watches, the case of this one is 30m water resistant, meaning you won’t have to worry about splashing it when washing your hands or if you forget your umbrella. The price is €24,400.
