Omega Returns To The Dark Side With New Speedmaster Watches

This monumental release marks Omega’s biggest Speedmaster shake-up yet.

By Jovan Krstevski

A dozen years have passed since Omega first took its Speedmaster into the darker realm of the Moon. Now the brand returns to that familiar orbit, better equipped and more deliberate. The new 2025 Dark Side of the Moon series counts seven references across four dial executions, easily the most comprehensive renewal the collection has seen.

Every model carries the same ceramic shell, measuring 44.25mm. Omega has shaved the case down just enough to make it wear smoother, avoiding that chunky feel that full ceramic chronographs usually carry. The polish now hits with a brighter gleam thanks to a new bevelled finishing process and the bezels, worked in Liquidmetal and enamel, keep things crisp and technical without losing the luxury edge. It’s ceramic craftsmanship taken to the level where industrial precision meets artistic patience.

Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon “Dark-White” – Ref. 310.92.44.51.01

The “Dark White” plays with contrast in a way that just works. The polished ceramic case surrounds a dial that catches light beautifully, with white gold hands and markers glowing green at night. That white hand with a red tip gives it a nice sporty kick.

Inside, Omega packs in the Calibre 9900, the same METAS certified automatic movement that’s known for being tough and precise. You can pick between a nylon strap with rubber lining or a full rubber strap that has a moon like texture.

The “Dark White” balances light and dark, but the “Dark Dark” stays deep in black.

A sand blasted dial, black indexes and green glowing Super-LumiNova keep things moody, while the Calibre 9900 returns in a Black Edition look.

The “Dark Red” follows suit, only this time with a pop of red on the chronograph hand and a hand wound Calibre 9908 finished in dark bridges and matte plates.

Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon – Ref. 310.92.44.50.06

For those who prefer their lunar stories literal, the “Grey Side of the Moon” revisits Apollo 8 territory. Omega shaped this one in plasma treated grey ceramic, wrapping around a skeleton dial carved to echo the Moon’s near side.

Flip it over and the far side comes into view through the caseback. Even the Calibre 3869 joins in, its bridges decorated to match the lunar idea running through the design.

All watches come on either nylon or rubber straps, closed by ceramic foldover clasps with ceramised titanium hardware. Water resistance is 50m. Prices span €15,600 to €16,400 model dependent.
