Oris Unveils The New Aquis Pro 1000M Watch

This saturation diver is monolithic in its intent and unapologetically large in character.

Oris has once again waded into the deep end, this time with the Aquis Pro 1000M. It’s not their first foray into saturation diving territory, but this one arrives with a patented Rotation Safety System (RSS) and an unapologetic case to make matters clear.

For those looking for housing, consider this case measuring 49.50mm x 16.60mm, yet its grey PVD titanium shell wears its size honestly with sharp geometry and a screw-down crown, guarded by two muscular shoulders. The RSS, for those unfamiliar, locks the bezel once set, a clever safeguard against accidental misalignment, something I first saw on the ProDiver Chronograph years ago, though this iteration feels more distilled. The whole affair is capped with a domed sapphire crystal treated internally for glare resistance.

The dial carries a blue gradient with a wave motif, a nod to the restless water it was born to face. Large indices and hands, heavy with white Super-LumiNova, give off green and blue emissions; the same chromatic logic Oris once used in its earlier ProDiver models.

To help separate timing functions at a glance. The bezel’s first fourteen minutes also glow blue, a small but meaningful detail for real underwater work.

Sitting deep within the case is the Oris 733 calibre, a pragmatic automatic engine borrowed from Sellita’s SW200-1, quietly delivering 4 Hz rhythm and 41 hours of stored energy without any hint of vanity.
