Seiko’s Presage Cocktail Time collection has long been celebrated for translating the vibrant artistry of Tokyo’s mixology scene into compelling, accessible watchmaking. In 2026, Seiko expands this beloved family with a trio of permanent additions: the HCB001, HCB002, and HCB003. Dubbed the “Crushed Ice” series, these models combine refined, downsized proportions with highly textured dials that evoke the crisp, shimmering aesthetic of a freshly prepared cocktail.
A notable shift for this release is the transition to more compact, versatile case dimensions. Moving away from the larger 40.5mm cases typical of older Cocktail Time models, the Crushed Ice trio features a stainless steel case measuring 38.5mm x 11.8mm, and a highly wearable 45.4mm lug-to-lug length.
While a slightly slimmer profile is always welcome in a dress-adjacent timepiece, the under-12mm thickness remains entirely manageable, retaining the vertical presence necessary to showcase the signature box-shaped Hardlex crystal. The case architecture blends polished surfaces with brushed accents along the lugs, offering a classic mid-century silhouette. The watches feature a pull-out crown, a screw-down see-through caseback, and a practical 50 meters of water resistance, making them robust enough for daily wear.
As is tradition for the Presage line, the dials serve as the visual centerpiece. The “Crushed Ice” naming stems from the underlying geometric, angular texture beneath the translucent, colored lacquer. This pattern catches and fractures the light much like ice cubes in a highball glass.
Seiko offers three distinct variations within the permanent collection:
HCB001 (Blue): Features a deep gradient blue dial paired with sharp, silver-toned dauphine hands and applied multi-faceted indices. This reference comes equipped with a sporty, five-link brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet.
HCB002 (Green): Displays a rich gradient green dial accented by warm, yellow gold-colored hands and markers. It is paired with a light brown cowhide leather strap.
HCB003 (Brown): Utilizes a warm gradient brown dial complemented by rose gold-colored hardware. It is delivered on a dark brown cowhide leather strap.
To maintain a clean, evening-wear look, the hands and indices are completely devoid of luminous material. A circular date window is neatly integrated at the 4:30 position, preserving the symmetry of the main hour markers. Both leather strap models feature integrated quick-release spring bars and are secured by a vintage-style, three-fold steel deployant clasp.
Driving the series is the ubiquitous, in-house Seiko Caliber 4R35. This automatic, hacking movement operates at a steady frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3Hz) and houses 23 jewels. It provides a standard 41-hour power reserve and can be manually wound via the crown. While mechanically simple and industrially finished, and visible through the exhibition caseback, the 4R35 is a notoriously reliable workhorse that ensures low long-term maintenance costs.
Priced at EUR 490 across all three references, the Seiko Presage Cocktail Time “Crushed Ice” series reaffirms Seiko’s dominance in the sub-€500 dress watch segment. By combining a sought-after, sub-39mm case size with the brand’s exceptional dial-manufacturing capabilities, these timepieces offer an incredibly stylish, characterful value proposition for enthusiasts and casual collectors alike.
