Watches & Wonders 2026: Laurent Ferrier Sport Traveller Slate Grey

Famous independent watchmaker, Laurent Ferrier, introduces a sporty travel piece with a brand new calibre.

Laurent Ferrier is one of my very favourite watch brands; their watches are beautifully designed, perfectly executed, and just different enough to stand out without being a bit weird to look at. For Watches & Wonders Geneva in 2026, this respected independent launches the Sport Traveller piece with a Slate Grey dial.

Laurent Ferrier Sport Traveller Slate Grey

Presented in a titanium case measuring 42mm x 13.3mm and with a titanium bracelet, the Sport Traveller is all about getting out there. 100m of water resistance means that you can take this watch places most Laurent Ferrier watches would never dream of going; they’re simply built for a different lifestyle. To assist with travel, this watch features a dual-time zone display. The hour hand can be set forward or backwards with the two discreet pushers on the case’s side; meanwhile, the home time is displayed as a number in the window at 9 O’clock. On the opposite side of that is the date window. The slate grey dial is classy, helped in part by the natural imbalance of the larger cutout for the home time display. Unlike on some other dress watches, I don’t mind the extra text on this piece so much, it’s meant to be more sporty, and sports watches tend to have paragraphs on their dials.

Laurent Ferrier LF275.01

Around the back of the watch is the self-winding calibre LF275.01, a brand-new calibre from Laurent Ferrier. It features a 72-hour power reserve and a 4Hz beat rate. The power reserve is increased by the winding of the micro rotor, which is made from 950 platinum. To make the watch more robust, the natural escapement seen on last year’s traveller piece has been replaced by a Swiss lever escapement, making it more resistant to shocks and vibrations. The finishing on this movement, like all Laurent Ferrier movements, is incredible. The horizontal satin finish, combined with a ruthenium treatment, is modern and sophisticated, while the extensive polishing of the balance bridge and interior angles is exactly why I love watchmaking of this level, especially as it’s all done by hand.

Laurent Ferrier’s new Sport Traveller Slate Grey piece stands as a unique take on the integrated bracelet sports watch segment and is a watch that makes Patek Philippe’s Nautilus and A. Lange & Söhne’s Odysseus feel, well, a little common. They’re all excellent watches, but this one really is special.
