Richard Mille has thrust upon us this new watch which turns the naughty factor potentially up to 11. Men of the world, if you want a watch that she (or he, we’re not biased here) can enjoy as much as you then pay attention.
You needn’t rely on the quality of the wine any more to tell you how far you’re planning to let things go, with the Erotic Tourbillon Watch all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the inevitable results of whatever it chooses. Those titanium rollers have six different messages on, the first one is focused on the wearer saying they would like to (insert action). The middle roller has the action on it which could be kissing, caressing or something more. The final roller is related to your partner, it could be a part of them or it could be a time. I think for an added touch of hilarity they should add a really weird one in there, who knows where it could lead. Getting back to the topic, Richard Mille’s complication for this which they’ve named ‘Oracle’ is operated by a pusher at 10 O’clock and will randomly assemble a new message on demand for the user so they can show their partner their intentions discreetly so as not to let onto their friends when they’re all at the dinner table on holiday together.
The movement in this watch is almost as special as the intimate relationship of the owner of the piece. Inside the grade 5 titanium case of this watch is a Richard Mille calibre which, like all others, has been developed in tandem with Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi. The problem the designers faced when this was in development was that if they left all the movement parts where they were originally then when they added the Oracle mechanism the parts would collide with each other. To solve this issue, they created a type of layout called ‘Duoplan’ which places the mainspring barrel and the tourbillon on the same axis.
You can spot this in the images, the tourbillon is apparent on the front of the watch, but if you turn over to the back of the watch you’ll see the barrel. Next to the tourbillon on the right you’ll see a power reserve indicator, the power reserve in this watch is 69 hours which made me chuckle, you know why. The final layer of ‘fun’ icing on this erotic cake is the button at 8 O’clock which remembers the position of the hands, then moves them out of the way of the rollers so you can take in the full view. A second press on the button moves the hands back to where they were, the watch will keep track of the time while the hands are out of the way.
The watch measures 50mm by 42.7mm and is 16.2mm which. There’s only 30 lucky people in the world who will own this. They might also be interested in the Thrustograph watch from Richard Mille which is used to track your performance through the night which all your friends are told is amazingly long.
