Introducing The HYT H5 Limited Edition Watches

BY DHANANJAY PATHAK

HYT introduced its first innovative fluid-based watch in 2012. Seven years on, the brands latest timepiece the H5 remains dedicated to providing a visually engaging timekeeping experience that has become synonymous with HYT watches and is driven by the new Caliber 501 movement that brings forth a slew of technical improvements.

At the heart of the new hand-wound HYT caliber 501 is an ingeniously designed Cam that is aimed at making the fluidic passage of time more accurate and precise. The cam which is visible through the exhibition case back provides thirteen different possibilities to adjust and index the hour and minute indications ensuring seamless integration between them. The mechanism incorporates an oversized lever that works in sync with the regulating bellows that control the flow of the two fluids that aid the display of time. The Caliber 501 operates at a frequency of 4Hz and offers an impressive power reserve of around 65 hours.

Apart from the technical innovation, the new HYT H5 follows the transparent and expressive design ethos seen on some previously released HYT watches. The massive case measures 48.8 mm in diameter but has a lugless design to aid wearability. Dominating the entire front along with the sides of the case is a massive sapphire crystal that offers an exceptional level of transparency from all angles. Visible on the side are bold numerals that have been placed on a Neoralite external flange. Crafted from a single piece of superluminova filled translucent material, the numerals not only make a strong visual impact in the day time but would make their presence felt by glowing brightly in dimly lit situations.

Moving to the front, one can see the familiar HYT style layout that features twin bellows at the bottom, a 60 minute counter at 12, a running seconds counter at 9 and a power reserve indicator at 3.A nice attention to detail are the 12 hour markings on the outer edges of the dial that would make it easy to read the time using the liquid-filled capillaries that surround the industrial-looking setup.

The HYT H5 would be available to purchase in two separate variations limited to 25 pieces each. The watch would come attached to a perforated rubber strap and would retail for EUR 55,000.
