So, despite all the events that have happened since March and before, with all the lockdowns, laws and losses that have happened, some folks are trying to look on the bright side. Shops are opening again, along with pubs, restaurant and other attractions, despite things not being over. You might be a little surprised, then, to read that Watches & Wonders will go ahead this year after all.
That’s right, a huge event that gets loads of folks from across the globe to cram into a small(ish) area and touch the same things while coming into contact with many press staff is going ahead after all. Watches & Wonders grew outwards from the SIHH shows and was quite the event in Miami, and was supposed to be replacing SIHH in Geneva this year. Except it’s going to be held in Shanghai rather than Geneva.
The official location for the event is the West Bund Art Centre, and it will run from the 9th to the 13th of September this year. The show is expected to be invite-only, so only dealers will likely be invited, perhaps with selected press outlets. Here’s a list of the brands on display:
- A. Lange & Söhne
- Baume et Mercier
- Cartier
- IWC Schaffhausen
- Jaeger-LeCoultre
- Panerai
- Parmigiani Fleurier
- Piaget
- Purnell
- Roger Dubuis
- Vacheron Constantin
