Following in the footsteps of previous special editions celebrating the Eilean, the classic 1936 Bermudian ketch lovingly restored by Panerai, the new Radiomir 8 Giorni Eilean Experience Edition PAM01643 takes this connection to the next level.
A 45mm x 14.5mm cushion shaped stainless steel case with 100 meters water resistance screams signature Panerai while featuring burnished finish, achieved through a PVD treatment followed by hand brushing. Panerai has incorporated actual bronze elements salvaged from the yacht’s restoration, this specialized bronze is composed of copper and tin and forms the bezel, crown, and caseback medallion, engraved with the vessel’s name and the year 1936. The left side of the case is also engraved with “Eilean 1936” alongside a dragon emblem taken from the yacht’s hull.
The dial has a grainy beige gradient finish, the upper plate features cutout hour markers and large Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock, allowing the beige Super-LumiNova layer beneath to glow through. A small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock maintains balance, the broad sword-shaped hands are also filled with beige Super-LumiNova.
Beating at 21,600vph (3 Hz) underneath the robust exterior is Panerai’s manually wound P.5000 calibre. With dual barrels, it delivers an impressive 8-day power reserve and features a Glucydur balance wheel and Incabloc shock protection to withstand daily wear. Its construction keeps most components between two plates for stability while minimizing unnecessary exposure to external elements.
A dark brown calf leather strap embossed with “Eilean 1936” and beige stitching complements the vintage inspired aesthetic. Limited to just 30 pieces, PAM01643’s EUR 49,000 price tag includes Mediterranean Experience with itinerary around Sicily and cruise on the Eilean.
