Omega’s just dropped a new piece into the watch world, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer. This isn’t their first rodeo with a worldtimer complication; that’s been kicking around in their Aqua Terra range for a bit. But now, they’ve decided to bring that globe-trotting functionality over to their more rugged Planet Ocean lineup. Available in two colorways; turquoise and grey, this watch packs a lot into its bold design.

The Planet Ocean Worldtimer comes in a pretty substantial 45.5 mm x 17.4 mm brushed black ceramic [ZrO2] case, which echoes the design of their Planet Ocean Deep Black model. It has a black ceramic bezel with a laser-ablated diving scale that’s polished to really pop. Thing’s built to handle some serious depth too with water resistance up to 60 bar (600 meters).

A laser-ablated and varnished Grade 5 titanium depiction of Earth from above the North Pole sits under a hesalite crystal at the dial’s center. Surrounding it, a 24-hour indicator distinguishes day from night. The outer dial features a black DLC-coated, laser-ablated honeycomb pattern, while a city ring highlights global time zones, with Bienne at GMT+1. A date window rests at 6 o’clock. One version has turquoise accents with white Super-LumiNova, while the other opts for grey with Omega’s grey Super-LumiNova, with the hands and indexes filled with the respective colors.

The clear caseback offers a nice view of Omega’s automatic Master Chronometer Calibre 8938 inside. This movement utilizes a Co-Axial escapement, a free sprung-balance, a silicon balance spring and hums along at 25,200vph, offering about 60 hours power reserve on a full wind.

The Planet Ocean Worldtimer comes on an integrated strap in black structured rubber, with turquoise stitching for the turquoise model and a grey underside with grey stitching for the grey one. Both have a ceramic and ceramic titanium foldover clasp. Priced at €16,300 (incl. VAT) or $14,800 (excl. tax) and are part of the permanent collection.
