Introducing The Breitling Chronomat Automatic 36 South Sea Capsule “Rainbow-Bright” Watches

Breitling gears up for the summer with new colorful Chronomat South Sea Capsule watches.

Breitling’s Chronomat collection received a thorough overhaul last year, which included the release of the bold and modern Chronomat chronograph along with smaller three-hand sports watches targeted towards the female audience and people with small wrists. For 2021, Breitling has expanded the Chronomat women’s collection with three new colorful diamond-studded South Sea Capsule watches.

Presented in vivid shades of blue and green and a warm tone of Beige, the dials of the new Chronomat Capsule South Sea watches evoke a nice summery vibe. And while the dials look lively and refreshing, what makes these watches truly vibrant are the multicolored diamonds set within the fixed bezel on top.  Like other members of the Chronomat 36 family, these new watches continue to exhibit maturity in design and functionality, which is not always the case with women’s watches. The applied golden lume filled hour markers, the printed minute chapter ring on the rehaut, the date window at 6, and the well-proportioned hands combine to form a face, that is attractive but also highly legible.

The case is crafted from stainless steel and measures 36mm in diameter. It features a simple yet sporty design with smooth flowing lines and chunky curvy lugs. The finishing on the case is top notch and most of the case has been finely brushed, except for the sides that feature two elegant polished bevels. One of my favorite details on the case is the oversized crown which is identical in design to the one found on the Chronomat chronograph and should make winding the watch a joyful experience. The case is water-resistant to a healthy 100 meters, which means you can afford to jump into the pool with one of these tied to your wrist.

Hidden underneath the closed case back of these watches is Breiling’s caliber 10. An automatic movement, the caliber 10 operates at 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of around 42 hours when fully wound. It is COSC certified to ensure extreme accuracy. The movement is also quite thin and helps keep the overall height of the watch limited to a svelte 10mm.

The new Breitling Chronomat Automatic 36 Capsule South Sea watches come attached to matching alligator leather straps and would retail for USD 8,500. Furthermore, the watches are not limited edition but would only be available for a limited period only.
