H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Small Seconds Bryan Ferry Limited Edition Watch

By James Phang

Born out of an interesting collaboration, H. Moser & Cie. came together with iconic singer and musician Bryan Ferry to create the limited edition Endeavour Small Seconds Bryan Ferry watch. Other than his renowned music talent, Bryan Ferry was also very passionate about art, having studied Fine Art and taught pottery while he was writing songs for his first Roxy Music album. After he was introduced to the Neuhausen watch Manufacture, he was so fascinated that he expressed the desire to collaborate in the creation of a special series, not only bearing his name but allowing him to partake in the design of the dial as well as other details of the watch.

However, Bryan Ferry made sure not to deviate far from H. Moser & Cie’s signature aesthetics; the dial design drew inspiration from H. Moser & Cie’s historic pocket watch models, with a slight twist in that the lacquered dial comes with a matte finish and features blued hands. The black used for the Arabic numerals and the minute track is balanced out by few red details: the “12” hour, the “60” figure in the small seconds sub-dial and the name of Bryan Ferry at 6 o’clock. The dial also features the rail track along the minutes markers, drawing emphasis to the edge of the dial.

The 38.8 mm x 9.3 mm rose gold case has the typically sculpted profile of the Endeavour collection and alternates polished and brushed surfaces. As usual, the beautifully finished hand-wound in-house HMC 321 calibre is a sight to behold, and it is the movement that so often steals the breath away from people. Slowly beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour and offering a power reserve of 3 days, it can and should be appreciated from its transparent sapphire crystal case-back.

The Endeavour Small Seconds Bryan Ferry also features a power reserve indicator on the side of the movement, as well as a hacking second mechanism and the original Straumann Hairspring with stabilised Breguet overcoil. It comes paired with a fully hand-stitched and hand-finished  brown calfskin strap which was buffed to give off the retro vibes.

The Endeavour Small Seconds Bryan Ferry is a signature limited edition launch of 100 pieces priced at 16,200 Euros, and will be available from January 2016 onwards. For more info, please visit h-moser.com
