Watches & Wonders 2023 continues to roll out some impressive novelties, and the Grand Seiko SLGA023 is among the most exciting. Part of the Evolution 9 Collection, this diver’s watch features a unique design approach aimed at enhancing both its utility and elegance. This sports watch boasts ISO compliance which satisfies the requirements for a diver’s watch.

The SLGA023’s high-intensity titanium case measures 43.8mm x 13.8mm, with a lug-to-lug length of 51.5mm. The screw case back and screw-down crown both ensure 200m water resistance. Additionally, the sapphire crystal protecting the blue dial has an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, making the dial easy to read at any angle.

Speaking of the dial, it is one of the most striking features of the SLGA023. The blue variation of the “Ushio” dial pattern is inspired by the waves of the ocean currents of Kuroshio and Oyashio, which is expressed through a distinctive, patterned design. Furthermore, the dial also features a power reserve indicator, making it easier to keep track of the watch’s power.

Under the hood, the SLGA023 features a Spring Drive Caliber 9RA5 movement, a next-generation automatic winding movement that boasts an impressive accuracy of ±10 seconds per month. When fully wound, the watch also has a power reserve of 120 hours or about five days.

Finally, the SLGA023 comes with a bracelet that features a three-fold clasp with a secure lock and push-button release, as well as a solid and slide adjuster. The watch has a price tag of USD 11,600.00 and is set to be released in July 2023.
