The New Breitling Colt Watch Collection

By Jovan Krstevski

If you have kept tabs on the market, you probably know that Breitling has always been regarded by the public as a forward-thinking brand within the watch industry. Their innovative and unique take on classic military great designs are not only beautiful and stylish, but they are durable and perform impeccably.

This article focuses on one of the brand’s most popular models. Among the most popular options, we had a chance to take a look at one of the company’s hard-hitters: the Colt series!

The Colt series is one of the most successful collections to come out from the company in Grenchen, Switzerland: originally intended for the armed forces, its easy to see why the maximum stability and build quality were a vital requirement.

Colt x4

According to the specifics listed by the company, these watches are water-resistant and can stand a pressure down to 200m of depth.

The flexible glare proofed and reliable sapphire crystal sports beautiful dial that looks great and comes in 3 different colours; black, white and blue, all with circular raised motif, offers excellent readability thanks to oversized lume coated hands and hour-markers. The true test here will only happen after a while: durability is best noticeable after you worn your watch for a while, so while the early impact feels positive, it might be too early to tell.

4-Colt

There are 4 different models within the Colt range, and the all have a difference in diameter and looks. While the Colt Lady is smaller (33mm), the Colt Automatic, the Colt Chronograph Quartz and the Colt Quartz measure 44mm in diameter to accommodate larger wrist sizes. The stainless steel case is characterised by a unidirectional rotating bezel with the four rider tabs (Breitling signature feature) and satin-brushed finish and engraved hour-markers.

In my opinion, this is a really great choice because it allows people to find a wrist watch that could feel like an immediate great feel.

These latter models differ in functionalities, with the Automatic having extended durability and the Quartz sporting advanced precision.

Why? SuperQuartz is widely used by Breitling because these movements is highly regarded for its stability, precision and extensive durability(officially chronometer-certified). With an unprecedented attention to details and production materials, it is no wonder that a company such as Breitling set out to rely on this movement for their watches.

Colt x3

With any model from the Colt series, you can expect top performance and outstanding sturdiness even within the most demanding conditions. These watches were created to pass high quality screening in order to deem them fit for military use. The story of the Colt models actually dates back to a few decades ago, when the concept was initially conceived in the half of the 1980. After so many years, Colt watches are still associated with the high end of the market, offering a unique compromise of aesthetic, functionality, durability and cost.
