There’s something really special about porcelain on a watch dial. It’s delicate but surprisingly tough, elegant but full of personality. You don’t usually see it on watches since it’s more at home in museum displays, but the new Glashütte Original x MEISSEN Senator Meissen puts it to work. This collaboration celebrates 180 years of Glashütte watchmaking and 315 years of MEISSEN porcelain, bringing together two German makers who really know their stuff. The 2025 Senator Meissen comes in three limited editions, each one showing off MEISSEN’s traditional firing methods and Glashütte Original’s mechanical know-how.
Mystic Maison – White Dial
The first model has a white porcelain dial with MEISSEN’s “Mystic Maison” design painted in gentle grey tones.
The Roman numerals and text aren’t printed, they’re actually hand painted with brushes, which gives each watch its own little quirks. They’re making 150 of these.
Mystic Maison – Celadon Green Dial
The second version, also limited to 150 pieces, uses the same Rocaille pattern with its flowing curves and shell shapes. They make these dials in a pretty interesting way. First up, they’ve got these really thin porcelain discs that get fired at 1,400°C to harden them up.
After that, painters add all the decoration by hand, doing it in layers. Each layer gets another trip to the kiln at 900°C, which sets the color and keeps everything looking clean and even.
Collage Dial
The third model is the rarest one at just 8 pieces. It features a colorful mix of flowers and animals taken from MEISSEN’s “Dekorwelten” crater vase.
Each dial gets painted in multiple stages and fired after every layer, building up those vibrant colors.
At 40mm x 10.23mm, the red gold case has a curved sapphire crystal up front, a see-through sapphire back, and can handle 5 bar of water pressure.
All three versions run on the Calibre 36-16, an automatic movement with 100 hours of power reserve and a silicon balance spring. The Glashütte three-quarter plate has a refined stripe finish, hand-engraved balance cock, sunburst finish on the manual winding chain, polished angles and an open worked rotor with a double-G symbol and a 21k gold oscillating weight.

The straps are available in Dark Blue and Black Louisiana alligator leather for the two 150-piece versions and Dark Blue for the 8-piece collage version; all attached with a red gold pin buckle. Prices are USD 30,300 for the Mystic Maison, white or celadon, and USD 36,400 for the Collage and are available at Glashütte Original boutiques and select dealers.
