Brellum Duobox Chronometer Chronograph Power Reserve LE.2 Ghost Watch

By Jovan Krstevski

We have covered Brellum quite many times already and to be honest we do not get tired of it. Brellum is one of the many start-ups who have stirred the industry in a good way, somewhat offering more control to us horology fans. The brand is also synonymous to quality and not quantity and this is one of the primary reasons why we get excited every time Brellum releases a new piece. For this release, we get a Duobox Limited Edition. Usually Brellum’s releases are only limited based on the manufacture’s capacity but this time we really get a limited edition chronometer. Setting it apart is the addition of a power reserve indicator to the legendary Valjoux 7750 and of course some handsome features that you horology heads would really love to get your hands on.

The Duobox Power Reserve LE.2 Ghost comes in a 41.8 mm stainless steel coated in Black DLC. Its clean profile is delicious, literally delicious as the black theme really amplifies the sporty attitude of the watch. The lugs are thin and sharp but of course chamfered on the edges. We love how this sharp look seems to capture the urgency that the watch tries to measure. The crown remains of the same design along with the pushers but they are all covered in the same Black DLC. We classify this design as classic but it is quite contrarian because the watch looks really modern. The black numerated caseback also features sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment to showcase the amazing movement inside.

Moving forward, we see the same black dial with lighter indices and some red details at the tip of the seconds hand and the lowest level of the power reserve indicator. Brellum also used luminous material for the indices and hands thus improving legibility even in darkness. Legibility is further enhanced by a box type sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. Moreover, the functions (Date, Chronograph, Pulsometer) follows through with the previous releases of the Duobox except this time, there is an additional power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock.

Powering the Duobox Power Reserve LE.2 Ghost is Brellum’s Calibre BR–750-PR based on the tried and tested Valjoux 7750 powering some of the finest high-end watches out there. We are practically buying into this impressive movement and the design is technically just a bonus from Brellum, super impressive. The movement also carries with it a Chronometer Officially Certified by the COSC which we all know is very hard to acquire. Furthermore, we see lots of good stuff such as Geneva stripes, perlage, black coated and numbered from 01 to 13 oscillating weight BRELLUM, and blued screws which can be viewed through the exhibition caseback. The movement packs in 25 jewels and beats at 28,800 a/h producing 46 hours of power reserve.

Finally, the Duobox Power Reserve LE.2 Ghost wears on either a handsome fabric handmade black Nebur Tec strap or a sporty genuine rubber black Nato strap. The watch has a water resistance of 5 ATM and retails for CHF 2890. For more info, please visit brellum.swiss
