Continuing the excellence with red gold and steel versions of the duo of watches.

In 2016, Glashütte Original introduced the Senator Excellence collection, marking a new classic in the brand’s portfolio. While its initial design leaned towards tradition, the brand has continuously evolved it, culminating in the introduction of modern dials for two new Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar models and two Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase models. These fresh releases focus on reinvigorating the classic Perpetual Calendar and Moon/Date models with updated, contemporary dials.

The highlight of these new references is the fresh take on dial design, varying depending on the case material. The red gold versions feature finely grained dials with silver galvanic treatment and applied numerals and hands in solid gold, exuding elegance. Whereas the steel models sport boldness, with grained dials, grey galvanic treatment, applied gold numerals with a blue coating, and blued steel hands.

As for the case, there are no significant changes. The Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar retains its 42mm x 12.8mm dimensions, while the Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase remains slightly smaller at 40mm x 12.2mm. The cases, available in steel or red gold, maintain the brand’s signature blend of brushed and polished surfaces, double-sided sapphire crystals, and a 50-meter water resistance.

Beneath the exquisite exteriors, the Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar houses the Glashütte Original Calibre 36-12, a modern, powerful, finely decorated automatic movement renowned for its precision and subjected to rigorous 24-day testing procedure. It operates at 4Hz frequency, offers a generous 100-hour power reserve, an anti-magnetic silicon hairspring, and a swan-neck fine-adjustment system. The Moon Phase Panorama Date model shares the same base movement, known as the Calibre 36-24, with a newly designed skeletonized double-G logo and a 21-carat gold oscillating mass.

These new Senator Excellence references are now available at the brand’s boutiques and authorized retailers. Gold versions come with brown alligator nubuck leather straps, while steel models offer a choice of blue alligator or blue fabric straps. The Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase is priced at EUR 12,700 in steel and EUR 22,400 in gold, while the Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar is available at EUR 24,300 in steel and EUR 38,100 in gold.
