Hublot has just introduced the world’s first multicolor ceramic watch in the form of Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic. This release leverages on the brand’s reputation for material innovation, featuring a bezel with an unconventional blue circle pattern embedded into a dark grey ceramic base. This watch highlights Hublot’s ongoing pursuit of new techniques in ceramic watchmaking.
A familiar Big Bang Unico case measuring 42mm hosts the new patterned ceramic bezel, a feature Hublot highlights as a breakthrough in ceramic technology. The bezel is embedded with multicolor patterns that Hublot describes as abstract and is made with Hublot’s proprietary material dubbed as “Magic Ceramic”. The height of the case contributes to a substantial wrist presence. The case combines microblasted and polished black ceramic with a patterned ceramic bezel, ensuring 100m water resistance.
The Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic retains the Unico series’ open-worked aesthetic, with chronograph subdials, an integrated date display, and readable hands and markers. The open design reveals movement components beneath, framed by a patterned ceramic bezel with blue circular motifs on a dark grey background.
The caseback allows a view of the movement inside, where the 354 components and 43 jewels HUB1280 Unico manufacture caliber pulsates at 4Hz and offers a 72h power reserve. It includes a vertical clutch, column wheel, and flyback function.
The watch is presented on a rubber strap, consistent with the Big Bang line. The Hublot Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic is a limited release of 20 numbered pieces. The retail price is set at $33,000 USD. The limited production run may affect availability.
