Introducing The Neotype LM01 Type D Watches

Reimagining the classic dive watch for modern adventurers.

Neotype is a French watch brand with a vision to create cutting-edge, contemporary watches that blend tradition with evolution. Two designers with extensive experience in the watch industry, Jean-Baptiste Mayot and Pierre-Thomas Lambert, started the company just last year. Their debut model, the LM01 Type D, is a modern take on the traditional dive watch with a utilitarian design and robust construction.

The Neotype LM01 TYPE D features a distinctive stainless steel case sizing at 40mm x 15.8mm. The design departs from the typical diver’s watch, featuring a mix of smooth curves and sharp edges.

It is available in a matte stainless steel finish or with a black or gold PVD coating.

The case’s distinct shape includes large crown guards flanking the signed 8mm screw-down winding crown, giving it a bold and robust look. The case is topped with a unique domed, 120-click unidirectional rotating bezel with six protruding tabs for enhanced grip.

A 3.5mm-thick domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating protects the dial, and the screw-down caseback ensures a water resistance of 300 meters, making it ideal for urban daily wear and underwater adventures.

The LM01 Type D boasts a matte-black sandwich-style dial, adhering to a minimalist time-only design for maximum legibility.

Long linear batons and small circles mark the hours, while a double baton marker at 12 o’clock ensures easy time reading in any lighting conditions.

The use of Super-LumiNova C1 on the cut-out indices guarantees a brightly glowing display, allowing you to read the time in the darkest of environments. Matching matte black baton hands, also filled with Super-LumiNova C1, indicate the time.

Powering the Neotype LM01 Type D is the robust Miyota 9039 automatic movement, renowned for its accuracy and dependability. With a 42-hour power reserve, the 28,800vph frequency ensures precise timekeeping.

The LM01 TYPE D comes with either a black, blue, or green FKM rubber strap and a khaki nylon NATO strap and is available exclusively through the brand’s website.

The retail price is €730 EUR for the plain steel model, €780 EUR for the black PVD model, and €790 EUR for the gold PVD model.

Stay tuned for an in-depth review of this ultra-sexy watch (in my opinion, the LM01 TYPE D collection is one of the best-looking watches that I’ve seen)…
