Seiko, with a rich heritage of drawing inspiration from its iconic timepieces, now takes us on a unique journey—a tribute to its inaugural GMT watch, the 1968 Navigator Timer, reborn as the Prospex Land Series GMT SPB411.

The new Prospex GMT SPB411 faithfully echoes the original 1968 Navigator Timer, featuring a barrel-shaped case, a rotating 24-hour bezel, and a brushed grey dial with bold applied markers and vibrant accents. This homage maintains compact dimensions, measuring 38.5mm x 12.6mm and 45.2mm in length. The iconic rotating bezel returns, now with a black-filled engraved 24-hour scale and a luminous pearl at the 0/24 mark. It upholds Seiko’s legacy with brushed steel surfaces, Super-Hard coating, 100m water-resistance, and a box-shaped sapphire crystal.

The dial replicates its vintage predecessor, boasting a mid-grey sunray-brushed base with textured applied markers, framed by an inner flange with minute markers and LumiBrite dots. The watch retains its charm, including the distinctive red-painted GMT hand for independent 24-hour time tracking.

Powering the SPB411 is the in-house automatic Calibre 6R54 with a 72-hour power reserve. This movement also enables the watch’s dual-time function. It comes with a period-correct 5-link stainless steel bracelet, a three-fold clasp with push-button release, and is limited to 4,000 pieces, priced at USD 1,500, available from November 2023.
