Tell – The rebel watch by Les Millionnaires at Baselworld 2013

The symbol of resistance can now be worn on your wrist. The national hero and rebel William Tell has now been immortalized by Les Millionaires in a hitherto unseen depth of detail in the most Swiss of all watches. A limited edition of 88 timepieces worldwide as a tribute to genuine heroes.

The famous 14th-century legend of William Tell became a worldwide symbol of resistance and of Switzerland thanks to the last drama of Friedrich Schiller. With loving attention to detail, the artists of Les Millionaires have created a unique tribute in silver and gold.

The center of the dial is adorned with the iconic William Tell monument in Altdorf, reproduced in 18-carat white gold. Behind it, printed on the back of the glass, is the majestic Swiss landscape. The famous apple that led to the death of the tyrant Gessler replaces the usual date display. Each day, a small piece of the apple in the date window of the dial is bitten off. At the end of the month, only the core, known as the “Bütschgi” in Swiss German, remains.

The cast-silver antique case is visually fastened by stitching in red gold. The crown is forged of 18-carate red gold and adorned by the Swiss cross. On the opposite side of the case, Tell’s cross-bow is depicted in a coat-of-arms made of red gold.

The strap made of genuine goat skin leather with fur is fastened with a sterling silver buckle, which is additionally decorated by the famous apple shot through with the arrow, both in red gold.

The “Tell” will be available at Les Millionaires specialist dealers and franchise stores for the price of CHF 12,850 and awaits discovery at Baselworld 2013 in Hall 2.2, Stand F 39.
