Zenith Unveils Four New Full-Gold Defy Skyline Watches

Zenith adds a golden edge to its urban sports icon.

Here, we look at four new Defy Skyline references executed entirely in gold, each exploring a different aspect of the collection’s architectural design language and high-frequency mechanical performance. Together, they form a complete view of what the modern Skyline collection can deliver when elevated through material, finishing, and technical focus.

Defy Skyline Yellow Gold Ref. 30.9300.3620/74.l001

The first watch is the 18k yellow gold Defy Skyline in its time-only configuration. This model stays closest to the core three-hand identity of the collection, yet gains a completely different presence in full gold. The 41mm case retains the angular profile, the 12-sided bezel, and the alternating brushed and polished surfaces that define the Skyline series. Zenith keeps practical touches in place, such as 100-meter water resistance and sapphire crystals on both sides. The olive green dial brings a softer contrast to the gold case while keeping the repeating star pattern that gives depth and structure. The 10-second sub dial is a signature element across the range, and here it adds a dynamic visual point as it reflects the faster beat of the movement. Inside is the El Primero 3620, an automatic calibre running at 5Hz with a power reserve of about 60 hours. The combination of accuracy, robustness, and a clean dial layout makes this model the most versatile of the group. It is delivered on a solid gold bracelet with Zenith’s tool-free interchange system and an additional rubber strap. CHF 59,900 / EUR 64,900 / USD 62,200

Defy Skyline Skeleton Rose Gold Ref. 18.9300.3620/81.I001

The 18k rose gold skeleton version shifts the focus toward openworked mechanics. Although the 41mm case dimensions match the time-only version, the impression on the wrist changes significantly once the dial is removed and replaced with a structural display of the rose gold-toned movement. The bridges are shaped to form the Zenith star, creating a deliberate connection between design and engineering. The turquoise silicon escape wheel adds a modern accent that catches the light and reminds you of the contemporary nature of the movement. The calibre is the 5Hz, El Primero 3620 SK, which shares overall architecture with the standard version but has been opened to reveal more depth and motion. The fast-running indicator is placed at 6, and the date is omitted to maintain balance. Power reserve stays close to about 55 hours. The watch keeps the same integrated gold bracelet and quick-change system, while its more technical appearance makes it a showcase for Zenith’s current movement design. CHF 61,900 / EUR 67,100 / USD 64,200

Defy Skyline Chronograph Rose Gold Ref. 18.9500.3600/21.I001

The third piece is the 18k rose gold Defy Skyline chronograph. Here, Zenith moves into true sports complication territory while keeping the strong geometric design language. The case grows to 42 mm to accommodate the El Primero 3600 chronograph movement, with 5Hz, 1/10th of a second chronograph indication. The dial is finished in a grey gradient with 3 subdials for small seconds, 60-minute, and 60-second counters. A date display sits discreetly between 4 & 5 and preserves symmetry. The central chronograph hand is directly linked to the high beat rate and completes a full lap around the dial every 10 seconds. This creates a constant visual impression of speed and precision. With about 60 hours of power reserve and full gold construction, the chronograph balances utility with a strong statement of luxury. It is offered on an integrated gold bracelet with an additional rubber strap. Price: CHF 64,900 / EUR 70,300 / USD 67,300

Defy Skyline Tourbillon Rose Gold Ref 18.9301.3630/67.I001

The final model is the 18k rose gold Defy Skyline Tourbillon, easily the most technical of the four. The brick red sunray dial is structured around a large aperture at 6 that reveals the tourbillon cage. This cage is remarkably light and completes one rotation every 60 seconds. The movement is the El Primero 3630 which stands out because it runs at 5Hz, an uncommon approach for a tourbillon and one that links Zenith’s historic strength in high-frequency watchmaking with a classical complication. Power reserve is about 50 hours. The case keeps the 41mm proportions and 100 meter water resistance, which is usually not offered on a watch with a tourbillon. It is also paired with a gold bracelet and an additional red rubber strap. This model is the flagship of the group and represents a merging of Zenith’s precision heritage with modern design.

Price: CHF 89,900 / EUR 97,400 / USD 93,300

All four Skyline models share the sharp design language and high-frequency El Primero movements topped with a 22k gold rotor, yet each brings its own character. The focus on accuracy, materials, and movement architecture stays consistent throughout, whether you choose the clean simplicity of the three-hand model, the visual depth of the skeleton, the capability of the chronograph, or the theatrical presence of the tourbillon. Together, they form a clear and cohesive path through the Skyline collection.
