Longines has been killing it lately by adding some reals gems to their vintage-inspired Heritage collection. But what if you are not yet a victim of the widespread vintage fever and have a liking for simple and traditional looking watches. Well, Longines has you covered there as well with their Master collection which is now being updated with some new moon phase watches.
The Master Collection from Longines has always focused on a clean and sophisticated approach towards timekeeping and these new references are no different. There are three dial colors to choose from and each offers a unique visual appeal. The white guilloche dial is accompanied by elegantly styled Arabic numerals for a traditional look, the black dial exhibits a more classic vibe courtesy of the Roman numerals and the blue variant features applied indices giving it a more contemporary vibe. And just in case none of these tickles your fancy, Longines is even offering a black/blue dial with diamond markers to add some bling to the collection.
Apart from the hour markings the rest of the dial layout is exactly similar on all watches. A circular sub-dial sits above the 6 O’clock position and displays the date along with the moon phase indicator. A sloped chapter ring on the outer periphery indicates the minutes. And finally, there is an elegant looking leaf-shaped handset (Polished silver on black/blue dials and heat blued on the white dial) to read the time and the date.
Like the dial, the stainless-steel case is also being offered in a couple of sizes to please a wider set of audience. People with smaller/moderate wrists can opt for the 40mm size whilst people who have large wrists or want slightly more presence can go with the 42mm option. The case is water-resistant to 30 meters and features sapphire crystals on both front and the back.
Driving the new Longines moon phase collection is the brand’s caliber L899. This is an automatic movement that operates at a frequency of 3.5Hz and offers a power reserve of around 64 hours. The movement has been nicely decorated and can be viewed through the exhibition case back.
Like many current offerings from Longines, these new moon phase watches bring a lot of value to the table. The watches would be offered on matching leather straps or a stainless-steel bracelet. The price would range between $2.350 and $2,750.
