Bell & Ross makes a number of highly sophisticated watches to demonstrate the company’s technical watchmaking acumen, but the company’s greatest strength is undoubtedly their watches that are centered on meeting the demands of armed forces, such as aviation watches with distinctly square case designs. That is not to say that they aren’t capable of creating classic round pilot watches, the BR V2-92 FULL LUM is a testament to that statement. A new innovative 3-hander watch that strives for optimal readability at all times of day and night.
If there’s one uniquely defining characteristic of BR V2-92 FULL LUM is its photoluminescent dial of it, the new watch is part of the “FULL LUM” family of watches made by Bell & Ross and is the newest addition to this acclaimed series. This three-hand watch is the brand’s all-rounder sports watch and it pays tribute to a lineage of watches made to glow in the dark. Large Arabic numerals adorn the dial at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions, while the rest of the time telling is left to the indices. While the numerals, the indices and the hands are coated in Super-LumiNova®, the dial itself is given a fair treatment of Super-LumiNova® in a luminescent green hue for optimal legibility at night and in low light conditions. A circular date window sits between 4 and 5 numerals, it has the same color as the rest of the dial. The dial is encircled by a bi-directional rotating steel bezel with an anodized black aluminum ring and a 60-minute scale.
The case has satin-finished and polished surfaces, it measures 41mm in diameter and has a thickness of 11.50mm with a screw-down crown and crown guard. The case offers a water resistance rating of 100 m so it can be submerged if needed. The watch makes use of the ultra-domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating while the caseback comprises of steel and sapphire crystal as well.
BR V2-92 FULL LUM is powered by the Bell & Ross calibre BR-CAL.302, which is an automatic mechanical movement. It comes paired with a black rubber strap with pin buckle in satin-finished and polished steel. The watch is limited to 500 examples. The price is available on request.
