A timeless homage to 1960s elegance with retro sophistication.

The prestigious German watchmaker Glashütte Original has just unveiled a new addition to its Sixties collection, the Sixties Small Second. This stylish timepiece pays homage to the 1960s, a decade that was renowned for its creativity and originality. Aesthetically captivating, the Sixties Small Second boasts a subtle retro charm, embodying the elegance of yesteryear.

The galvanic silver dial serves as the backdrop for this exquisite complication, adorned with a delicate vinyl-type finish. Complementing the dial, the hands and indexes are meticulously crafted in rose gold, flawlessly harmonizing with the 42 mm x 12.95 mm rose gold case. The slightly domed sapphire crystal, with anti-reflective coating on both sides, gracefully follows the contours of the dial and hands and helps secure a water resistance of up to 3 bar (30 meters / 100 feet). The numerals at 3, 9, and 12 pay homage to the 1960s, boasting a distinct typeface reminiscent of that influential decade.

The heart of the Sixties Small Second beats with the self-winding 39-60 manufactory calibre, ticking at 28,800 vibrations per hour and providing a generous power reserve of 40 hours. With exquisite Haute Horlogerie finishes, including Glashütte stripes, beveled edges, and polished screws, the movement can be admired through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, revealing the intricate skeletonized rotor adorned with the brand’s signature double-G logo.

Completing the fashionable design is the matt green Louisiana alligator leather strap. Limited to 100 pieces, the Sixties Small Second, ref. 1-39-60-01-01-04 is available worldwide at Glashütte Original Boutiques and selected retailers, priced at Euro 17,600 (including 19% VAT).
