There’s something almost poetic about Lange revisiting the Saxonia Thin in 2025, a model that has long served as the distilled essence of Glashütte minimalism. These new special editions in 750 Honeygold and 950 platinum don’t rewrite the book, they refine a language the brand already speaks fluently. Collectors familiar with the earlier silver-dial variants will instantly spot the shift in temperament here, a darker, more contemplative spirit brought forth by onyx.
The case, at 40mm x 6.2mm, carries the silhouette we’ve come to expect from Lange’s two-hand purist. Honeygold gives it a warm personality, balancing between rose and yellow. Platinum tones it down, giving it a reserved, composed air. The curved lugs make the case settle low on the wrist, keeping the profile graceful and discreet.
Carved from true onyx, the jet-black dial reflects light with quiet richness. The 750 Honeygold edition pairs its warmth with the dark surface in harmony, while the 950 platinum version lets contrast take the lead.
Across both, only two rhodiumed gold hands and slim baton appliques rise against the stillness, marking time without distraction. No date, no seconds, no flourish, just clarity born of precision.
Like a well oiled machine, the L093.1 does its job from the inside, a hand-wound engine scarcely 2.9 mm tall, storing 72 hours of autonomy. It’s finished in classic Lange fashion, from gold chatons to the engraved balance cock, visible through sapphire as if framed for contemplation.
The watches are paired with a gleaming black alligator strap, closed by a buckle fashioned from matching metal. Collectors will find the two references under 211.052 for the 750 Honeygold edition and 211.062 for the 950 platinum version, both capped at 200 pieces.
