Grand Seiko fans have long awaited a global debut following the success of the Japanese domestic market-only SBGW235. Grand Seiko has now unveiled the SBGW305, becoming an exemplary addition to the prestigious Grand Seiko Elegance collection. A watch that transcends borders, this model inherits the legacy of its predecessor, the SBGW235, and weaves together the best elements from Grand Seiko’s classic hand-wound lineup.

The SBGW305 boasts a beautifully crafted 37.3mm x 11.7mm stainless steel case, making it the Goldilocks of dress watches; neither too large nor too small. Its polished surfaces, meticulously achieved through the famed Zaratsu technique. A box-shaped sapphire crystal offers unhindered views of the elegant dial beneath, while a see-through caseback allows for the intricate movement to be admired.

The metallic silver-toned dial of the SBGW305 is cloaked in a sunburst finish with faceted dauphine hands that sweep across applied indices. The clarity of the dial, protected by a box-shaped sapphire glass, ensures legibility from any angle. The absence of excess ornamentation allows the purity of the design and the impeccable craftsmanship to take center stage.

At the heart of the SBGW305 lies the hand-wound Calibre 9S64. This remarkable engine operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), boasting a generous 72-hour power reserve. This powerhouse movement achieves an impressive accuracy of +5 to -3 seconds per day.

The Grand Seiko SBGW305 comes paired with a stainless steel luxurious five-row beads-of-rice bracelet. The Grand Seiko Elegance SBGW305 is available globally from December 2023, priced at EUR 5,800.
