Mido is stepping into the integrated sports watch arena with the new Multifort 8 Two Crowns. Known for their sensible, no-nonsense watches, Mido’s taking a swing at a genre dominated by big players. On paper, it’s ticking the right boxes: slim profile, wearable size, practical features. The design feels familiar, but that’s part of the game.
The Multifort 8 Two Crowns measures 40mm x 9.5mm, lug-to-lug comes in just under 45mm, keeping it compact. The case has a mix of satin-brushed and polished surfaces, plus a raised octagonal bezel with sloped sides; definitely playing in the vintage inspired sports watch sandbox. Water resistance is 100 meters and two screw-down crowns sit at 2 and 4 o’clock.
The dial is available in blue, black, or grey, each with a striped pattern running across the center. Hour markers are recessed, adding a bit of depth, with round indices and trapezoids at the quarter hours, except the 3 o’clock plot reserved for the date. The internal rotating bezel carries a 60-minute scale, and the hands are slim, faceted batons with Super-LumiNova.
Operating from within is the Mido Calibre 72, based on the ETA A31.111. It runs at 3.5Hz and offers a healthy 72h power reserve. Plus there’s a Nivachron balance spring for improved resistance to magnetism.
The blue dial variant comes paired with a blue rubber strap whereas the other two on an integrated steel bracelet. Both come with quick-release spring bars for easy swapping. Pricing sits at EUR 1,190 on rubber and EUR 1,220 on steel. The watch is now available through Mido retailers and their website.
