Patek Philippe has now just revealed a new time-and-date Nautilus model as part of the permanent collection, in addition to other brand-new releases. The iconic reference 5711 which debuted in 1976, is succeeded by the brand-new Patek Philippe Nautilus reference 5811/1G-001. With the current variant, the “G” denotes white gold, and there is just a millimeter between Patek Philippe Nautilus reference 5811/1G-001 and the older steel 5711 model. The new Nautilus is fairly similar to the previous model with the blue dial that saw its last sunset at the beginning of 2021, save from a few small aesthetic and technological enhancements.

This newer highly desired luxury sports watch is made of white gold. The 1mm larger case than its predecessor is sized at 41mm, whereas the height is just 8.2mm. Similar to the original 5711, the case of the new 5811/1G is a two-part modular design. The winding stem may separate from the rest of the watch, thanks to the new pull-out piece lever system, allowing the complete movement to be taken out of the watch’s front, the patent of which is currently pending. The case has a screw-down crown and can withstand water pressure up to 120 meters. A sapphire crystal exhibition caseback allows the viewing of the movement inside.

The dial of the brand-new Patek Philippe Nautilus reference 5811/1G-001 has a recognizable classic blue sunburst dial with a black gradient which intensifies the more it is toward the outer edge. The iconic horizontal embossed bars also received a few refinements, and resting atop the gradient dial is the gold-applied hour markers and hands, both of which are treated with luminescent coating.

The driving engine of the new Patek Philippe Nautilus reference 5811/1G-001 is Patek caliber 26-330 S C, an automatic wind movement with a stop-seconds function and Gyromax balance and silicon Spiromax balance spring. The movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offers 35 hours of power reserve.

Patek Philippe Nautilus reference 5811/1G-001 is worn on a white gold bracelet with a secure fold-over clasp that features a new lockable adjustment system. It has a price tag of $69,785.
