The Patek Philippe Nautilus is perhaps one of the most sought-after luxury steel sports watches with an integrated steel bracelet. For 2021, Patek Philippe has brought a smile to the faces of Nautilus fans by releasing a slew of new Nautilus watches, one among them being the new Nautilus Travel time Chronograph 5990 in Rose gold.

Compared to its classic black dial and stainless-steel sibling introduced in 2014, the new 2021 5990 brings forth a warmer and more elegant experience with a Rose gold case and a blue sunburst dial. The Rose gold case maintains the compact and wearable dimensions of the steel model. It measures 40.5mm in diameter and is just 12.5mm thick despite multiple functions on offer. It is also with mentioning that despite being made of precious metal the watch sticks to its sporty roots, offering healthy 120 meters of water resistance.

The dial, like the case, looks familiar but has now been presented in a rich shade of blue that provides a nice contrast to the red gold case. The dial offers a plethora of functionality but has been beautifully laid out to look balanced and highly legible. Placed at the 12 o’clock position is a circular sub-dial that indicates the date. At 6 then is another circular sub-dial this time around to track chronograph minutes. Two small squares on each side are the A.M, P.M. indicators, and a skeletonized baton can be used to track time in a different time zone. Normal timekeeping is taken care of by lume filled baton-style hands and hour markers. And finally, there is a centrally mounted stick-style hand for the chronograph function.

Flipping the watch over reveals the beautifully decorated in-house automatic caliber CH 28-520 C FUS. The movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of around 60 hours when fully wound. In terms of embellishments, you get everything from perlage to Geneva stripes to hand-polished bevels on the bridges and real 21k gold rotor. The movement also gets the Geneva seal which stands for some of the highest quality standards in the world of horology.

The new 2021 Patek Philippe Nautilus Travel time Chronograph 5990 would come mated to an integrated Rose gold bracelet. The watch will retail for USD 106,452.
