Every now and then, a brand steps back from its own design language, takes a slow breath, and decides it is time for a little more shine. That is exactly what is happening with the Ressence TYPE 1 Round Rose Gold, also known as T1°RG. It marks the first time the Belgian brand has introduced rose gold plating into one of its watches, and it adds a warm character to a brand that usually keeps everything clean and minimal.
The case stays true to the familiar Ressence approach. It is crafted from Grade 5 titanium, topped with a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and shaped to feel natural on the wrist. The watch measures 42.7mm x 11mm, and the total weight is only 64 g, including the strap and buckle. With no crown breaking the silhouette, all winding and setting is done through a lever on the caseback, which keeps the watch smooth and pebble-like while maintaining that futuristic clarity Ressence is known for.
But the real charm sits right on the dial. The convex German silver surface is plated in 4N rose gold, creating a soft copper glow that shifts with the light. Silver subdials and a clean white minute track keep the balance, while a mix of textures adds depth. The watch features a sandblasted case ring, a polished bezel, and guilloche or snailed detailing on the rotating discs, which gives the dial a quiet movement and refinement without drifting into excess.
Time is displayed through three rotating discs instead of hands. One presents the hours, one shows the seconds, and one tracks the day of the week. These are powered by the Ressence Orbital Convex System in the ROCS 1.3 form, which connects to a customized automatic movement based on the ETA-2892 calibre. It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a reserve of 36 hours. Every marker is engraved and filled with Grade A Super LumiNova to ensure clarity in low light.
The watch is limited to 70 pieces and comes with a light grey suede Kudu strap. The price is 18,150 Swiss francs before taxes.
