Tudor Updates The Ranger Watch Collection With A Dune White Dial And A New 36mm Size

The Ranger story continues with a compact case and a dial drawn from the desert.

Tudor is adding a 36mm option to the Ranger collection, which until now only came in 39mm. The other half of the story here is the new Dune white dial, inspired by the sand and rock formations you’d see at the Dakar Rally. It’s a smart move. The Ranger has been strictly matte black since its 2022 relaunch, and while that works, a lighter option makes sense for a tool watch that’s supposed to handle different conditions.

The case comes in two sizes now: 36mm x 11mm or 39mm x 12mm. Both are 316L stainless steel with a satin brushed finish throughout, except for the polished bezel edge. The watches resist water up to 100 meters. The crown is oversized and screw-down, with Tudor’s rose in relief. If you’ve handled the Black Bay 58, you know what to expect here. That’s essentially the same approach to finishing and the same practical sizing philosophy.

The layout stays familiar, Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock with baton markers around them. Arrow-shaped hands guide the time, and the seconds hand on the white dial carries a burgundy tip as the lone bit of color. Grade A Swiss Super LumiNova covers the markers and hands, black on the white dial and beige on the black. Each dial has a light dome with a domed sapphire crystal finishing the front.

Humming inside the 36mm variant is the MT5400, and the MT5402 powers the 39mm. COSC certification, a 4Hz rate, silicon balance springs and close to 70 hours of reserve apply to both. Tudor has been consistent with this level of specification.

The bracelet uses Tudor’s T-fit clasp with five adjustment positions across an 8mm range. No tools needed. There’s also a tri-color fabric strap option woven in France by Julien Faure. Prices start at €3,180 for the 36mm on fabric and go up to €3,620 for the 39mm on a bracelet.
