Olivier Jonquet (Montres OJ), is a new French watch brand and I’m happy to present you their first model: The Elie Watch.
There are many watches that have this same design, but I’m French so let me be chauvinistic. This one will be a hit… Also, don’t forget that it’s very complicated to launch a new watch brand, so it seems normal to me to highlight these beautiful creations.
Be singular!! Here’s the watchword of the brand.
The Olivier Jonquet watch reflects the essence of the combination between the past and modern trend. A watch from the early 1910s/1920s that remains as visionary today as when first unveiled almost one century ago.
A singular watch with a 38mm stainless steel 316L cushion-shape case polished or Satin finish, up to you to choose your preference, that gives a contemporary and retro look. The satin case back is engraved with OJ logo, name of the model and your serial number.
On the front the enamelled dial with black figures and small second, blued steel black or blue «Breguet » type hands, is protected by a sapphire crystal. The watch is finished with a leather strap totally handmade in a Parisian craftshop and finally the heart of the timepiece is a premium French hand-wound mechanical movement with 45 hours of power reserve.
These movements were made in France but assembled in Switzerland that’s why you will find SWISS engraved on the bridge of keg. Unsettled, cleaned, oiled and adjusted in Haut-Doubs (France), they will probably serve you well for many along year. The last detail is the engraved crown.
Beyond the quality of the materials used the brand wanted also to realize a french assembled watch with parts mainly made in France.
About the movement. It’s a good vintage France Ébauche FE 233/69 reworked and adjusted in a Haut-Doubs workshop which is the cradle of French clock. About 70 movements will be necessary to realize this watch and 20 will be dedicated to after-sales service.
The Elie Watch model will be made in only 50 copies after receiving all subscriptions.
All this in a very reasonable price level of 1890 €, considering the quality of materials, their origins and exclusive character of this watch.
Well, finally…Inspired from watches of the 1910/1920 era, this watch combines modernity and retrochic. The shape gives to the watch its originality in a convenient and pleasurable size to wear on any occasion. Adapted to all wardrobe styles it can accompany you during your day office, in a cocktail party, or even through the weekend at the beach.
In brief a timepiece which in any event will please watch aficionados…
