From Doha to Denver, and from Rio back home in the push of a button: Zurich Worldtimer True Blue (Zürich Weltzeit Nachtblau) combines 24 watches in one—and now has a movement with the new NOMOS swing system.
Nomos Glashutte has always been known for their simplicity by design approach that melds Swiss watchmaking and engineering with affordability. Similar to its predecessor that comes with a white dial, the Worldtimer is finished in what is called true blue coloring for the dial pictured here and houses the NOMOS caliber DUW5201, which is the first automatic movement equipped with an in-house escapement: the NOMOS swing system.
The greatest thing about this particular timepiece is how simple it is to use. The push down button located at 2 o’clock works with just one click and let’s you set the time in various time zones across the globe. Home is located using a little red icon and is a great choice to offset the true blue colour of the dial. What happens when you click the little button at 2 o’clock is really delightful. Once clicked, the outer city ring and hour hand advance simultaneously changing the time zone depending on which city you are in, whether its in London or down under in Sydney, the Nomos Glashutte is there to help you keep track of the time.
The watch overall has an elegant and simple design without overcomplicating the issue. The big outer disk outlines the various cities for various time zones, hours and minutes hands with a small seconds display at 6 o’clock and also a small 24 hour indicator disk located at 3 o’clock hidden under the upper most layer of the dial. The watch is finished in stainless steel, tripartite and measures in at only 39.9mm in size with curved sapphire crystal glass and anti-reflective coating. The caseback has also been finished with sapphire crystal so you can see the beautiful movement at any time and also comes with a 42-hour power reserve.
