From the 18th to the 26th of March 2015 the world’s largest watch showcase event gets going in Basel in Switzerland. There are some amazing watches being shown off over the next few days (one of which I believe is a white Omega Speedmaster to accompany their Dark Side of the Moon piece which we are very excited about).
All the brands you know and love will be gathered in that one space for 8 days only where they’ll show us what happens when they flex their muscles. There’s the huge brands such as Rolex, Omega, Breitling and TAG Heuer that will be revealing their continuations in excellence. The super luxury brands such as Patek Philippe, Breguet, Audemars Piguet and the boutique brands such as MB&F. That’s not all though, there are so many other brands that are there this year that it might take you 8 days to get around the place!
Follow us as we make our way around the show, reporting in live for us on the latest news in the watch world. Wrist Review will be updating regularly on new watches, brands and inventions. It seems the main thought that troubles most of the brands is the rapidly expanding smartwatch sector. While some of us may laugh, dust our hands and go down the pub it’s the low price and high quantity tactic that will be the main decider on the success of the smartwatch. And then there’s the added connectivity which makes people’s lives easier, I reckon that’ll be what really puts smartwatches on the map. But there is still hope, brands such as Rolex and Omega ha s a huge pedigree in the watch world, Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin have the expertise of haute horlogerie covered too. H Moser & Cie recently unveiled their take on what a smart watch should be as well which will attract the attention of many eager fans.
Make sure to stay updated with us as we bring you the latest and greatest watches from the industry.

First introduced to horology with the Patek Philippe Calibre 89 by his father few years ago, Harlan enjoys his passion for fine horology. He prefers to spend his time in the boutiques of upmarket brands, trying out new pieces constantly. His preferred 3 brands are A. Lange & Söhne, Breguet and Vacheron Constantin. Although not much for the smaller brands, he still finds the complications intriguing and wishes to own one watch from each of his three favourites. Read his articles here.
