Patek has not introduced any “new” models, they have been instead focused on face-lifting existing collections in new case materials, and some other details, such as new dials.
Patek Philippe’s 5170J (yellow gold) was introduced back in 2010. With an amazing in-house caliber, an important addition to manually wound, two-register chronographs from PP. This year, Patek has also introduced the 5170 in white gold. It has the same specs as the 5170J except for the new dial with the elegant Berguet numerals, instead for the roman and baton hour markers. The “new” 5170 in white gold is housing the hand-wound Caliber CH 29-535 PS, a double register column-wheel chronograph with 65 hours power reserve.
Overall, this small change is “big” enough to make it almost feel like a new model.
