As Baselworld draws to a close, we have a lot to catch up on from the watch industry, so let’s not dawdle and look at the new watches from Sinn.
104 St Sa A G
This watch is the quintessential pilots watch according to Sinn, it has a shimmering green dial, day and date indications and a bi-directional pilot’s bezel. This watch also has a sapphire crystal on the front and back and is pressure resistant to 20 bar, as well as being low pressure resistant as well although no figure was given for that. Inside it is an ETA 2836-2 movement, and it’s limited to just 500 pieces.
206 St Ar
Next, we go from the blue of the skies to the deep blue of the ocean with the 206 St Ar which is a contemporary take on the traditional scuba diving chronograph. It features a day-date complication as well as the chronograph which come from the Valjoux 7750 movement. The case also highlights their high tech diver watches which are known for their anti-humidity technology as well as diving certifications from DNV GL.
206 ARKTIS II
Like the 206 St Ar above, this watch has excellent diving credentials. But, it serves as a 20th-anniversary present. In 1999, Sinn launched the 203 ARKTIS which was the first watch to receive technological upgrades that made it resistant to temperatures, severe temperatures. This watch could guarantee functional reliability in temperatures from -45 degrees C to + 80 degrees C. The new 205 ARKTIS II also has this party trick which could save your life one day.
6099 B
Also hailing from 1999 is a somewhat different watch, the Frankfurt Financial District watch which was elegant enough to be worn, well, anywhere. The new 6099 B is sure to stand out in the boardroom, with an elegant blue colour. The rotor of the Sellita SW 500 movement inside this watch has been engraved with the outline of the Frankfurt skyline. The watch is limited to just 200 examples worldwide.
6012 and 6012 Rose Gold Anniversary
Another watch in the Frankfurt Financial District line of timepieces is the 6012, which isn’t colourful like the previous one but does offer extra complications. As well as the chronograph, there’s also a moonphase display at the 6 O’clock position and a full calendar in there as well. Fun fact, the moon disks on the moonphase display are made from mother of pearl. All of these complications have come on a Sinn SZ06 calibre which looks remarkably like something from ETA. As long as it keeps the costs down. There’s also the 6012 Rose Gold Anniversary, which celebrates the launch of this particular watch, as well as Sinn’s close ties with its home of Frankfurt. It is essentially the same watch with the same movement and dial layout, but the 41.5mm case is now in rose gold, and the watch is limited to 50 examples.
