Ateliers deMonaco earned its Geneva seal back in 2015 successfully earning its rank amongst other elite watchmakers. This recognition does not come too easily as the requirements are definitely costly. Each watch component not only has to be made perfect but also must be manufactured and assembled entirely in Geneva. This is why when you purchase a watch that carries the Geneva seal, you are actually buying your own peace of mind.
So folks without further ado, here are the two new models from the brand that add to this fantastic collection that truly exemplifies excellent watchmaking worthy of the Geneva seal.
First is the Poinçon de Genève in white gold limited to only 18 pieces. This watch is polished and assembled by hand and its 18k white gold case is secured by 6 screws achieving a cool 3 atm water resistance. The sapphire crystal also features multi-layer anti-reflection resulting to a nice legibility on the grey dial featuring curved and applied roman numerals in black PVD. Finally, it wears on a hand-stitched alligator leather strap secured by a white gold tongue buckle.
Next is the Poinçon de Genève in rose gold also limited to 18 pieces. The 40 mm rose gold case has the same features as the white gold model. The silver dial also provides a nice backdrop against the rose gold dauphine hands and the black PVD plated applied roman numerals. It also wears on an alligator leather with matching rose gold tongue buckle.
Both luxurious models are powered by a venerable Manual dMc–708 caliber beating at 4 Hz and boasting of 38 hours of power reserve. The movement can also be seen via the exhibition caseback. This is pretty much the highlight of the Poinçon de Genève watch featuring an ultra-thin dimension allowing for a 9.2 mm hight enclosure. At 40 mm, this watch is definitely smallish but is perfect for dressy occasions.
Going back to the movement, it also features a patented Ateliers deMonaco “Freebeat” adjustment system wherein it basically negates the need for pins thereby avoiding any interferences and resulting to better reliability.
