Introduced in 2017, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time was a befitting addition to a collection that as per the brand pays a tribute to the spirit of travel, enabling the wearer to track two times zones at the same time. Initially launched in silver and blue, the new Vacheron Constantin Dual Time Black adds to the Versatility of this small but highly practical sports watch collection.
In a world where experimenting with color seems to be gaining a steady pace, Vacheron Constantin has chosen to stick to a more traditional approach. Presented in a deep shade of black the dial on the new Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time Black looks classy and complements the steel exterior. It has a nice sunburst finish to it that adds to the visual dynamism of the dial and should also result in some nice light play. The layout remains unchanged Barring a few cosmetic upgrades. You still have the beautifully polished applied faceted hour markers, a dual minute chapter ring for easy tracking of time, a day/night indicator at 9, a nicely recessed circular date sub-dial at 6 and a nicely proportioned slender handset. But what makes this one stand out are those red highlights on the GMT hand and the AM/PM indicator. This little splash of color goes a long way in elevating the visual appeal of this watch.
Crafted from stainless steel the case on this watch still measures 41mm in diameter and has a thickness of around 12.8mm which combined should result in a nice and comfortable profile on the wrist. It has finished to a high standard and features a nice interplay between brushed and polished surfaces. On the front is sapphire crystal along with the brands signature Maltese cross bezel and there is a sapphire crystal on the back as well. And just like previously released Dual time models, this one is also water-resistant to a healthy 150 meters.
Powering the watch is Vacheron Constantin’s in-house 5110 DT. This is a self-winding movement that comprises 37 jewels, operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of around 60 hours. The movement is certified by the Hallmark of Geneva which stands for the highest quality standards in Swiss watchmaking. It has been beautifully decorated and can be viewed in all its glory through the exhibition case back.
The Vacheron Constantin Dual Time Black would be accompanied by a steel bracelet, a rubber strap, and a black alligator strap. The watch would retail for EUR 24,400.
