Back in June we had a giveaway contest together with Jorg Gray. The lucky winner was David D. and here is his mini review and thoughts on the timepiece:
Ladies and gentlemen’s and all watch geeks around the world…
It’s my pleasure and a big honor for me to post this review about the watch I won in the competition that wristreview.com had this summer: “GIVEAWAY: Jorg Gray JG9100-14 Watch”
This sport watch is actually my favorite watch in my watch collection and one of my favorite sport watches that I have ever seen. Just look at the nice chronograph on this good-looking watch from Jorg Gray.
Let’s take a look at the watch – and why not begin with its size. This stunning timepiece has a 45-mm polished solid stainless-steel case, and the size seems to be just right on my hand. The case size matches the 12,5 mm thick case. Many details, such as the pushers, numbers and bezel screws are made larger than the usual watch out there. Because of the details, you get a masculine and though expression from the watch.
A masculine watch.
Other details that I like are the polished screws on the case. The screw grooves are facing to follow the dial. Even the 4 smallest screws at the left and the right edge at the case are directed at the same way. All these small design-details does so that watch lovers can enjoy the watch. This indicates that the designers at Jorg Gray are perfectionists.
The stainless steel bracelet is polished and has a silver-tone, which ensures that it matches the case perfectly. The bracelet has brushed inserts and fold over clasp with safety. Unfortunately the clasp is the weakest thing with this watch – in any case, by my opinion. It’s not as good as rest of the watch. If you shake the watch you can actually hear an annoying rattling sound – pity.
I’m driving around and flashing with my new watch.
The steel-silver-look on the watch breaks nicely with orange and black shades all over the watch. The case features a black dial with striated texture and orange ring around the chronographs. The logo is appliquéd below twelve o’clock, and the analog date aperture is located at four o’clock. The Arabic numerals in the dial has a brushed silver-tone and has also quarter-hour positions. Even the hands has a polished silver-tone with orange accents, and they are shaped like medieval swords. That’s a good design choice for the hands, they fit perfectly for the masculine look.
The case has some nice accents, both to left and right, and that’s two brushed black Ion-plated parts. And the pushers are like I wrote before a bit larger. They are made in textured steel with orange detailing at the edges. Between the buttons there is a screw down crown. This means that the watch is water resistant. Which is good for me as I like too swim when it’s summer. The screw down crown is textured in steel with orange detailing and engraved logo of Jorg Gray.
Jorg Gray did an interesting thing with the watch. It’s actually a quartz watch, but the chronograph “part” has a sweep seconds hand.
The JG9100-14 haves a precision Swiss quartz movement with domed sapphire crystal.
My conclusion of this watch is: A sport watch with a masculine and though touch! Let’s go and skydiving! 🙂
Good job Jorg Gray! It’s an amazing watch!
At this point I want to say Thank You to both Jorg Gray and Wristreview – That you choose me as the winner in the competition! And Thanks to Wristreview for all good reading that we, all watch-lovers, get at your watch blog!
I also want to thank all other competitors for a nice job and for all greetings you posted!
