As part of its Watches & Wonders novelties, Hermès has introduced their new H08 collection, which has several vibrant three-handed watches and a mono-pusher chronograph. After the debut of H08 a couple of years ago, several versions have been added to the brand’s lineup that uses a distinctive composite material created by mixing carbon fiber with graphene powder. The case is made of this material, which has a rough appearance that appears to have been hand-hammered but feels smooth to the touch. A black ceramic bezel on the 39mm cushion-shaped casing nicely contrasts the composite material.
The new H08 is offered in four distinct colorways: blue, yellow, orange, and green. Its vibrant rubber straps give the dial a splash of color. Customized Arabic numerals on the dial bear the recognizable “H” emblem as a homage to the brand’s history. A mono-pusher chronograph with the same design aesthetic as the three-handed models are also part of the H08 line. The watch’s 41mm cushion-shaped casing, which is also built of a carbon and graphene combination, has a titanium bezel that enhances the watch’s sporty appearance.
With rough-grained sub-registers at 9:00 and 3:00, the H08 Chronograph dial alternates segments with smooth and textured finishes. The dial’s industrial appearance sets it apart from the less overt time and date options. The retail prices of the three-handed variants are predicted to be around $7,500, while the cost of the chronograph model is yet unknown. The chronograph model will start shipping in early 2024, while the three-handed variants will be available in the fall of 2023.
