Montblanc has released its latest timepiece, the Montblanc 1858 The Unveiled Secret Minerva Monopusher Chronograph, at the Watches & Wonders 2023. This contemporary watch is the third version of the Minerva mono-pusher chronograph, and features a 43mm x 14.8mm distressed steel case with a three-fold process achieved through hand washing, brushing and polishing. The white gold fluted bezel pays homage to Minerva’s first fluted bezel of 1927.
The openwork dial hosts cathedral hands, Super-LumiNova-treated suspended hour indices, and two black open-worked rings flanking the central ring. The Unveiled Secret is a standout due to its inverted movement which allows the activation of the chronograph from the dial side.
The MB16.29 caliber powers the watch, with a manual-winding movement, power reserve of 50 hours, 18,800vph frequency, and is fitted with a column wheel and horizontal disc clutch. The sanded German silver plate with circular graining, silver bridges with Geneva stripes, and gold-plated going train make for a visually stunning watch.
The caseback of the Unveiled Secret is sealed and features an engraving of the Minerva manufacturer. The black nubuck alligator strap with white stitching and a distressed steel triple-folding clasp complete the watch. The Montblanc 1858 The Unveiled Secret Minerva Monopusher Chronograph is limited to only 88 pieces and retails for EUR 40,000.
