Leica, renowned for its high-end cameras, has launched the ZM 1 and ZM 2 Monochrom Special Editions, following the release of its new Leica M11 Monochrom camera. The watches have been renamed from their previous L1 and L2 models to follow Leica’s updated ‘Zeitmesser’ concept. These black and white monochrome watches have a stainless steel case (41mm x 14.5mm), black PVD coating, and matte black dial.

The ZM 2 features an internal, rotating GMT bezel and a day/night indicator, while the ZM 1 has a date window, power reserve indicator, and setting mode indicator. Both are powered by 26-jewel manual wind calibers Leica ZM 1 and Leica ZM 2 respectively, produced by Lehmann Präzision GmbH, with a frequency of 28,800vph and a 60-hour power reserve.

The watches come with a black calf leather strap that has forgone its red stitching for black. The ZM 1 is priced at £9,900, while the ZM 2 is priced at £13,300. The watches are water-resistant up to 50m (5 bar) and retain the signature red dot crown of the original collection. The watches will be available in selected Leica stores worldwide from May 15th.
