Under the ownership of LVMH, Gerald Genta is making a strong entry into the Only Watch 2023 with their remarkable timepiece creation, the “Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse Minute Repeater.”. Brand’s first Only Watch timepiece is a fitting tribute to the late master-watchmaker. The Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse Minute Repeater is a one-of-a-kind timepiece that combines Gerald Genta’s iconic design with Disney’s beloved mascot.
As a part of the relaunch of the Gerald Genta brand, this unique watch not only celebrates Mickey Mouse’s 100th anniversary but also pays homage to the brand’s history. As such, a hand-painted Mickey Mouse is celebrating his 100th birthday on the dial. With a 40mm white gold case and an octagonal bezel, the dial is made of champlevé enamel. The minute hand is shaped like Mickey’s hand, and the minute track is written in a festive font.
The watch is powered by the in-house manually wound Caliber GG-001. This movement features a two-hammer minute repeater and a jumping hour and retrograde minutes indicator. The movement has a power reserve of 80 hours.
The watch is fitted with a red-colored textured rubber strap. It will be auctioned off at Only Watch 2023, with proceeds going to research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
